The Quinta da Moita Longa is an old aristocratic estate, situated in the midst of wild natural scenery. In the second century this paradise was a Roman Villa -property of the Knight Templars- and since 1434 a royal forest refuge of the the kings of Portugal. There is just one 2 km long forest track that leads to the estate which is enclosed by a garden and meadows. There is an idyllic wood glade nearby with a small waterfall. A chapel from the seventeenth century also belongs to the estate. The Quinta´s accommodation includes three double guestrooms, each with a full bathroom. There is also an apartment for two in a separate small house traditionally called a "Casalinho". The house has all modern conveniences, and is furnished with stylish, antique furniture. In both main buildings there is a large living room with a beautiful fireplace where one can relax. Meals can be served in the Quinta upon request.
