Located in the heart of the Alentejo region, 30 km from Alcácer do Sal and near the Vale do Gaio dam, is the Pousada do Torrao Valle da Gaio. The Pousada has fourteen guest rooms and a bar and restaurant. The restaurant serves regional food (a typical menu might include dam bass soup, codfish stew with tomato and sweet pepper, stuffed pork chops). The rooms are contemporary in style, spacious and with full bathroom. The sunsets from the terrace, overlooking the dam, are unforgettable. There is a swimming pool at the Pousada and you may borrow bicycles. There are many outdoor activities possible from this quiet location in the countryside.

Notes In Torrao visit the 16th century Parish church, Misericordia Church, the small Chapel de Nossa Senhora do Bom Sucesso. Visit Alcacer do Sal and Alvito. Cycling horseriding, cruises, four wheel driving, hot air ballooning, canoeing, archer and birdwatching in the vicinity. Approximately 125 km. to the Lisbon airport and 170 km from Faro airport. 26 km. to Alvito and 43 km. to Evora where there are other Pousadas.
