“We loved our stay here. The owners, Anna and Fernando, made us feel welcome by starting a fire and offering tea or coffee. Our room overlooked a vineyard. The place is amazing with ponds, ducks and swans, a chapel, and centuries old buildings, with modern amenities. Our meals were prepared by their cook, Rosa, who was learning English, but knew her cooking and wines. One of the highlights of our entire trip was sitting and talking with the owners about their family histories and connections to the Mateus family famous for their wines. They also made great suggestions for exploring the area. I highly recommend at least a three night stay here. I can just imagine how much better it would have been if it hadn't been raining the entire time we were there. ”
