Awaiting 2012 prices from the hotel.
Full payment is required 30 days prior to your stay. There is a 2 night minimum at this inn.
This 17th century manor in the small wharf of Cais do Pico on San Roque, faces the sea. Guests can fish and swim in crystal clear water only 20 metres from the inn's front door. It has splendid views to the Pico mountain and San Jorge island. The recently restored house is equipped with modern bathrooms and has a nautical theme with lots of polished mahogany and brass. It has a unique atmosphere, like a solid boat in a safe harbour, in the middle of the ocean. There are a couple of modest restaurants in the village, and more in the vicinity. Note that this property is on an island in the Azores. It is part of the Solares of Portugal group.

Our Feedback
Rating: Excellent “Great building, very old and wonderful innkeepers” Rating: Very Good “We enjoyed our stay, and the location was great, as was the view. There was some confusion with the lodgekeeper, as she didn't replace our towels until we asked her to, and didn't clean the rooms until I asked about it. The rules posted in our rooms stated that if we wanted new towels, then we needed to put the old towels in the bidet. When we returned from sightseeing, and the towels were still in the bidet, my aunt had to ask for more towels. The rules also said to be out of the rooms by 10 a.m. for them to be cleaned, which we were. The next day the rooms still were not cleaned. The following morning I asked if someone came in to clean the rooms, and the lodgekeeper said that she did. She said that if we left the rooms unlocked, then she knew that we wanted her to clean them. My aunt didn't want to keep their room unlocked, since anyone off the street could walk in and steal their stuff out of their room (since their room entrance was right on the street--with double-glass doors. Still, when she kept her room locked after that, the room was cleaned. So, there was confusion about that. Other than that, the breakfast was charming and wonderful. My aunt was really displeased initially, and I felt badly, as I was the one to select Casa das Barcas, but things got better after the first couple of days.”
