The Pousada Santa Clara is located between the Algarve and Alentejo. Situated near the beaches of the coast of S. Vicente, in a hilly landscape and on the banks of Santa Clara dam, it is a tranquil place with wonderful lakeviews. The Pousada is surrounded by woods and is ideal for walking and hiking. There are nineteen comfortable, spacious guestrooms (some with balcony) and they are decorated in contemporary style. There is a delightful swimming pool and a children's play area in the grounds. The restaurant serves regional cuisine (a typical menu might include tomato soup with grape salad, codfish turnovers with rice and spinach, tenderloin pork in coriander sauce), and there is a pleasant bar in which to enjoy a pre-dinner drink.

Free cot for children 0 - 2. Children 3-12 years old pay 15% of room rate if sharing adults room.

Notes

Enjoy walking and hiking in the area. The festival of Santa Clara is on 8-10 August each year. The local town church Igreja Matriz has interesting azulejos (painted tiles typical of the region). Visit the ruins of Nossa Senhora do Desterro, a 17th century Franciscan monastery. Sample the local arbutus brandy. Visit the town on the coast, Milfontes. The Pousada is 220 km. from Lisbon airport.
