Awaiting 2012 prices from the hotel. The five Casas that make up this little complex of granite houses are delightful. Located in Marialva, a historic village in the Beiras region, a stay at one of the Casas de Coro will be a relaxing experience: enjoy the house-prepared cuisine, try the wines of the house, go for hikes, visit the village and the surrounding areas. There are five casas, each different and each suitable for different sized groups or familes and all with heating and fireplaces. In Casa do Coro the rooms are Arrabalde, Cisterna, Pipa, Cruzeiro and Pelourinho and these are perfect for two people. These rooms are air conditioned. The suite Ermida can accommodate an extra bed. The Casa da Vila may be rented by two or three couples and has a living room with fireplace and kitchen; this casa also has air conditioning. The Casa de S. Tiago has two bedrooms, one bathroom, living room with fireplace and kitchen. The Casa de N.R.de Lourdes is available for two or three couples. Some of the Casas have a minimum three day stay but we will advise you of this upon enquiry. Full or half board is also available with prior arrangement.

Notes Beyond Marialva there are four more historical villages not to be missed, several castles, archaeological circuits and the Côa’s famous Palaeolithic rock engravings. Meda Village, Meda Tourist Wine Tavern, Marialva Village, Longravia Thermal Spa, Arribas do Douro Natural Park, Castelo Rodrigo, Castelo Mendo, Almeida, Trancoso.

For stays of 1 or 2 nights: If cancelled more than 7 days prior to reservation, no hotel penalty. If cancelled within seven days of reservation the hotel will charge the amount of one night.
For stays of 3 nights or more: if cancelled within seven days of reservation, hotel will charge 30% of entire stay. In cases where client has booked three or more nights and shortens the number of days reserved (upon arrival or during stay), the hotel will charge 30% of the cost of the remaining nights. In case of no-show, 100% of complete stay charged.
Balearic & Canary Islands
If cancelled between fifteen and eight days of reservation date, the hotel will charge 50% of the total nights reserved. If cancelled seven or less days prior to reservation date, hotel will charge total amount of stay. In case of no-show, 100% of complete stay charged.

The setting of the hotel (next to the castle), nicely decorated and furnished rooms, and an excellent service.
Didn't Like:
Not really "didn't like" but rather suggestion. Some visitors like to see/take local tours without a hassle of figuring out roads/times atc. Hotel should offer guided tours/packages or if recommend self-guided, should provide well written directions (with realistic travel times for someone who is not familiar with the roads), and realistic times for sightseeing. ” Rating: Excellent

Fantastic food served in a lovely setting.
Didn't Like:
Reception closed & few people around. Only one person, the manager, spoke English and he was not there most of the time. In fact, no one was in sight except for dinner time. We felt very isolated. Our room was pretty, but it had no comfortable place to sit and no information printed in English. The only common area was the pool, and we cannot sit in the sun due to skin problems. We enjoy reading, but could not find a place to do that.We feel Casas do Coro may be a great place for Portuguese people, but would not recommend it to other nationalities due to lack of information and service.”
