In Facha, one of the nicest villages of Ponte de Lima, is Casa Das Torres, built in 1751 by Duarte Pereira da Silva. It is a granite manor house of splendid proportions with a central body framed with doorways and balconies of forged iron. At the borders are two elegant towers replete with pyramids. There are panoramic views that dominate the bucolic Valley of the Lima River - perfect for watching lovely sunsets. It has been in the present family for seven generations. The present owner, Manuel Novais Correira Malheiro is an Agrarian Technical Engineer, who has dedicated himself to the estate's fruit-growing and viticulture. He and his wife, Margarida, opened their house to visitors in 1982 and will pleased to help you plan your time in the area. There are three double/twin comfortably furnished rooms in the main house and two apartments (complete with kitchenette). The House has a swimming pool, games room (with billiard), a common room with television and a breakfast room. This property is part of the Solares de Portugal group of manor houses. Only breakfast is served here (in the b. and b. rooms only) but there are restaurants in the towns nearby.
