Horta Pousada in Santa Cruz, on the island of Faial in the Azores, occupies a 16th century fort on Horta Bay and has been classified as a national monument since 1947. It is one of two Pousadas in the Azores. It has exceptional views over the magnificent Pico Island as well as the famous marina with yachts that have come from all over the world. . The town of Horta has historical significance (the explorer Captain Cook visited here in 1775 and noted its fine properties). It is the ideal place to celebrate special times, to explore the island, to watch whales and dolphins, to hike, cycle, go horseriding or simpy to relax. There are twenty six uniquely decorated double rooms and two suites here, most with spectacular views of the marina. There is a delightful outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant serving an interesting regional menu.

Children 3-12 years old pay 15% of room rate if sharing adults room.Most Pousadas can put one extra bed in a room but they can't usually put two. Free cot for children 0 - 2. Children 3-12 years old pay 15% of room rate.
