The Pousadas use a room yield system. This means the rooms rates vary by dates and availability. You can use the online reservation system to determine exact rates. A castle, a convent and a palace, built in different periods of history, were the origins of this amazing architectural masterpiece in Alentejo. The former Knights of the Order of Malta Monastery, is immersed in an ambiance of medieval mystery. Flor da Rosa Pousada manages to combine the original characteristics of the old with some wonderfully modern architecture. The rooms are spacious and bright and well equipped with television, hairdryer, safe and minibar. The restaurant serves a regional menu with a good winelist. There is a swimming pool at the posada and in the surroundings you can visit falconry shows and take carriage tours. There is also horseriding and several golf courses in the vicinity.

The setting, the old part of the castle. It was beautiful.
Didn't Like:
The hotel was clearly renovated a while ago and I think the decor was old and not attractive. This castle would deserve a better ambiance. Also, i didn't like the fact that they added a new part on the back of the castele and that most of the rooms were lokated in that uninteresting and poorly decorated area. The pool was also lacking of charm. A big contrast between the beautiful facade of the castle and reception area and the rest of it. Also the town of Crato has nothing to offer and to have dinner in an nice place we had to drive over 40 minutes away and went to Castelo de Vide. I am hapy we stayed only one night.”
