The São Vicente Pousada in Braga (Minho region) is the result of a masterful restoration of a late nineteenth-century palace. In the ‘Charm’ category of Pousadas, it is a well located inn for exploring the town and nearby areas. The Pousada has twenty six rooms (fourteen twin, four double, two superior double and six superior twin and two magnificent suites). The rooms are well equipped with Air Conditioning and Heating, Mini-bar, Phone, Cable TV and satellite, Hairdryer, Bathrobes and wifi. The restaurant serves regional gastronomic cuisine with ingredients sourced locally.

Notes Braga, in Roman Times, was known as Bracara Augusta and in the 12th century it was an important town as the seat of Portugal´s archbishops. The town is full of churches and monuments, reflecting its religious importance in the past. The Romanesque cathedral is well worth visiting. There are many fine buildings in the town. There are several important religious processions throughout the year, including Holy Week (at Easter) and the festival of São João, in June. On a grassy slope near the town of Braga is the Bom Jesus do Monte - a huge granite stairway with fountains and statues depicting biblical figures.
