This noble house, located in Arcas near Macedo de Cavaleiros, is a wonderful example of 17th century traditional architecture of the region. It is a wine-growing area and the house lies at the centre of a large estate of fruit trees and olive groves. The pool is within a walled courtyard, and the guest bedrooms are in the main house, while the apartments are in an outer building. The owners of Solar de Arcas comment "You will feel that you belong to a real Portuguese family when you sit on a footstool savouring a glass of wine and nibbling at a piece of a smoked delicacy before the fireplace where iron vessels boil and the revolving plate grills simple, but first-rate, meals".
