Between the city of Braga and the Geres mountain range stands Santa Maraia do Bouro Pousada, the result of the restoration of a former Cistercian Monastery. In accordance with monastic severity, but with a comfortable and surprisingly modern decor, this Pousada is an exciting discovery in the cultural sites of Minho. All rooms are beautifully decorated and are ensuite. At the Pousada there is a swimming pool, a tennis court and various games. In the vicinity there are opportunities for fishing, horseriding, biking, hiking, birdwatching, golf and visits to Roman ruins. The restaurant serves a regional menu.
